Midland Garden Care offers a premium quality lawn turf, installation and regular lawn maintenance packages. We guarantee each new lawn will be shade & drought tolerant, weed free, low maintenance and offer a dense green sward.
All our turf as a good quality lawn turf is suitable for luxury lawns and larger landscaping projects. All turf is cultivated from seed and is regularly treated for weeds. The seed mix is roughly 20 – 25% dwarf amenity rye grass (for surface durability) and 70 – 75% fescues (fine grasses for appearance and strength).
Regular maintenance packages available
During the growing season the turf should be fed using a balanced fertiliser containing similar levels of Nitrogen (N), Phosphate (P) and Potash (K) which should be applied by us every four to six weeks.
Any turf laid between March and October should be watered thoroughly at least once a day until the roots are established. It is recommended that every piece of turf laid should receive at least 2 hours of constant watering per day, increasing during periods of hot, dry or windy weather.
If you notice any signs of the new turf drying out (browning, curling or shrinking) then our gardeners are available on call to help out.
Reseeding existing lawns
Where possible we’ll always recommend to reseed an existing lawn, with the right care and attention any old lawn reseeded will grow into a healthy luxury lawn. Although you can reseed at almost any time of the year, the grass needs adequate time to get established before winter.
It should be done several weeks before the first frost, but after the scorching heat of summer, which can be tough on lawns.
